Overview
As a Senior Engineer joining an agile feature team responsible for building Deutsche Bank's Client Reference Data (Counterparty Master) team, you will create working, tested code that delivers value to our common platform. You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap, integrate business value with experience and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team. We expect you to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about data and should be familiar with agile scrum development process. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner and collaborate with stakeholders from across Information Technology and business divisions.
In this Analytics Senior Engineer role, a hands-on Senior Engineer role with team oversight responsibilities, you will be working closely with product owners, scrum master and distributed feature teams for delivery, while developing solutions working with architects and demonstrating through proof of concepts and guiding/mentoring junior developers for implementing the solution.

• Data Architecture and Design: Distill complex and disparate requirements into simple, actionable elements of a design, conduct design reviews and ensure solutions meet business requirements, design and implement data architectures for big data processing using Hadoop ecosystem technologies like HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Hive, and HBase, develop scalable and efficient data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and analysis, and ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle
• Data Analysis and Insights: Perform data analysis to derive insights and actionable recommendations, develop and implement machine learning models for predictive analytics and data-driven decision making, and collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions, infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize infrastructure resources for big data processing, monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of data platforms, and implement automation and DevOps practices for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, local regional data policies, establish data governance policies and procedures for data security, privacy, and compliance, as well as implement access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms to protect sensitive data
• Documentation and Reporting: Document technical designs, architectures, and implementation details, prepare and present regular reports on project progress, performance metrics, and key insights, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical audiences How You'll Lead
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, while fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture
• Communicate technical information in a consistent style to all audiences, as well as collaborating with distributed teams
• Provide technical guidance and performance goal settings for team members Skills You'll Need
• Hands-on experience in building web/analytical applications in a distributed environment and building data ingestion pipelines for real-time and batch data processing
• Through Architecture understanding of web applications, security/digital certificates and distributed environments with proficiency in SQL is crucial and familiarity with relational databases like Oracle
• Good knowledge about relational databases, data warehousing and dimensional modelling to structure data for optimal querying and analysis
• Experience in Agile Scrum development environment, Test Driven Development, and leading and resolving complex production issues and performance tuning
• Understanding principles of data visualization and best practices for creating effective charts/dashboards/graphs for conveying insights clearly Skills That Will Help You Excel
• Previous working experience in Banking & Client reference data domain is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Should be familiar with release and deployment process and experience in DevOps CI/CD pipelines is plus, as well as with design/requirement tools JIRA/Confluence and Big data processing (Hadoop Eco System) and exposure to Google Cloud platform is a plus Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
